About OutbreakWatch

OutbreakWatch follows the 2026 hantavirus outbreak. Around 50 official and journalism feeds get pulled every hour, every story is geolocated, every confirmed case and death is dated. One outbreak, in one page.

Why this exists

When a public-health event is unfolding, people need clear sourced data, organized in one place. The Johns Hopkins COVID-19 dashboard reached 2.5 billion page views; the Washington Post's "flatten the curve" simulator became the most-read story in that paper's history. OutbreakWatch is built in that tradition. The focus is on aggregation and presentation, not opinion.
